El-Sayed: how to say it the second time

Every line from the unlisted episode that needs new wording, in order, with what to say instead. Red = could get you in trouble. Orange = factually off. Grey = tighter, your call. Everything else you said stays as is.

The one rule behind every fix

Say what the record shows. Then give your opinion, and call it your opinion.

"His mother funded terrorists" is a claim of fact, and it is false. "His mother worked for a charity the Treasury shut down as a terror financier, and he says his family has no ties. I don't buy it" is a fact plus your view. Same punch. Nobody can touch it.

Watch three words: "terrorist" about a private person, "justifies" about El-Sayed, and "involved in" when you mean "worked at" or "named in". Almost every fix below is one of those three.

Setup and glossary

You said: "they say he has ties to one of the largest terror groups in the entire world, the Muslim Brotherhood"
Say"Republicans say he has ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. Hamas started as the Brotherhood's Palestinian branch. That's why this matters."

The US has not designated the Brotherhood as a whole, and you say so yourself at 13:00. Don't contradict yourself five minutes apart.

You said: "Egypt is the home of the Muslim Brotherhood. I may have to pull that out."
Say"His parents immigrated from Egypt."

Stop there. Where his parents are from is not evidence of anything, and you knew it on the day.

You said: "the correct answer would have been something along the lines of, while I have multiple family members who have been involved previously in terrorism..."
Say"Here's what an honest answer would have sounded like: 'Yes. My sister says some of my relatives were in the Brotherhood. I'm not. I reject everything it stands for.' I'd respect that. Instead he said: no."

Your point is that he should have owned it. Make the point without putting "terrorism" in his family's mouth.

You said: "He was removed from the military in 2013."
Say"The military removed him in 2013."
You said: "designated a terrorist group by the U.S. carried out by the U.S., carried out the October 7th..."
Say"Designated a terrorist group by the US. Hamas carried out the October 7th attack."
You said: "designated as a terrorist group by several states already"
Say"Texas and Florida have both designated it a terrorist organization under state law. CAIR is suing both. Washington hasn't done it, and I think it should look hard at it."

Name the two states. "Several" invites someone to count.

You said: "The Treasury Department labeled a terror financier in 2004. They send money to terrorists."
Say"In 2004 the Treasury designated it a terror financier and shut it down."

The designation is the fact. Let it speak. You need this one clean, because his mother comes up later.

You said: "about 11 million followers... if I had to vote for Hamas or Israel, I would vote for Hamas a thousand times over... friendly calls with actual terrorists on stream"
Say"Hasan Piker. A left-wing streamer with millions of followers. He said America deserved 9/11. He walked that back two days later, but he's kept defending the idea. He said Hamas is 'a thousand times better than a fascist settler colonial apartheid state.' And he talked about the streets running red with landlords' blood."

His real Hamas line is worse than your version. Use his. Drop "calls with terrorists" entirely: the one call people point to was a 19-year-old Yemeni TikToker.

You said: "They considered him one of the Muslim Brotherhood terrorists... Mohammed Sultan, who was arrested as a terrorist in Egypt"
Say"Mohamed Soltan. American citizen. Egypt sentenced him to life in 2015 after the coup, and the US got him out. His father, Salah Soltan, is a senior Brotherhood cleric who's still in prison there. Mohamed is a donor to El-Sayed."

Egypt's charge is Egypt's charge. Saying "terrorist" as a fact about a US citizen is the risk.

You said: "Iran's supreme leader... from 1999"
Say"Iran's supreme leader from 1989 until he was killed in an Israeli airstrike on February 28th, 2026."
You said: "55% of residents are Muslim... One out of every two people is Muslim"
Say"Dearborn. One of the largest Arab and Muslim communities in America. More than half the city is of Middle Eastern or North African descent."

The 55% is ancestry from the 2020 Census. The Census doesn't ask religion.

You said: "United States and Israel are not a part of the International Court of Justice. They have no jurisdiction whatsoever"
Say"The ICC, the International Criminal Court. Neither the US nor Israel ever joined it."

You meant the ICC. Every UN member is in the ICJ, and Israel is defending South Africa's case there right now. Or skip the term: nothing in the El-Sayed story needs it.

The family

The section that matters most. Every person here is private, so every line is fact first, opinion labeled.

You said: "the relatives in Egypt were jailed for being terrorists. She also wrote that their mother was an active terrorist in the brotherhood in college in 1970"
Say"His own half-sister posted this in 2012. Quote: 'Had an amazing talk with my mom about her activism in the Muslim Brotherhood during the early 70s while she was in college.' And: 'My family has long been MB.' She wrote that relatives in Egypt were jailed for being part of it. Her word is activism. Mine is different. I think joining the Brotherhood is supporting terror. Disagree with me if you want."

Read her words exactly, then say yours. That's stronger than paraphrasing, and you were already halfway there at 21:00.

You said: "So if you're going to jail for terrorism, you're a terrorist."
Say"They went to jail in Egypt's crackdown on the Brotherhood."

Not for terrorism. Cut the line or use this one.

You said: "His mother worked for charity tied to sending money to terrorism... Why she was never charged, I have no idea, but she was clearly involved... She was literally involved in sending money to terrorists."
Say"His birth mother worked five years, 1999 to 2004, for a charity called IARA. In 2004 the Treasury shut it down as a terror financier. Her name shows up more than a dozen times in court papers on its wire transfers to Iraq. That case was about breaking the Iraq sanctions. She was never charged. He says he wasn't raised by her, and that's true, he grew up with his dad and stepmom. Fine. Then don't go on Meet the Press and tell America your family has no ties."

The most important rewrite in the episode. She is a nurse practitioner in Missouri. No court ever said she funded terrorists. The version above keeps every hard fact and puts the punch on him, where it belongs.

You said: "his father-in-law leads multiple Muslim groups involved in sending money to terrorists"
Say"His father-in-law, Tayeb Jukaku, is on the board of CAIR Michigan, and he was its president for five years. He's on ISNA's Founders Committee. Both groups were named in the Holy Land Foundation case, and neither was ever charged. That charity's leaders were convicted of sending millions to Hamas."

"Named, never charged" is the accurate phrase, and it still lands. "Involved in sending money to terrorists" is a claim no court made. Also: Founders Committee, not ISNA's board.

You said: "he's given himself 300,000... to a man who is leading multiple organizations that send money to terrorists"
Say"And he's put three hundred thousand dollars into the super PAC backing his son-in-law. Three checks of a hundred thousand each. Then here's the part nobody's talking about. July 20th, he gives a hundred thousand to CAIR's own super PAC. July 21st, the next day, that super PAC sends a hundred and seventy-five thousand to the same pro-El-Sayed super PAC. That's not me. That's the federal filings."

The money trail is the strongest fact you have, and the first take left it out. Show the FEC pages while you say it (links on the re-cut plan, Pickup D).

You said: "he signed a letter supporting Mohammed Morsi's degree... urging the president to purge the media and police... remove all the laws and restrictions and safeguards"
Say"In 2012 Morsi issued a decree putting himself above Egypt's courts. A letter backing that decree has a signer listed as 'Dr. Abdul Rahman El-Sayed' of New York. The Washington Free Beacon says sources confirmed that's him. His campaign never answered. Ten days later, Morsi's supporters attacked protesters outside the palace."

Say where it comes from. You haven't seen his signature, the Free Beacon has a source. Attribute it and it holds.

You said: "He's also in prison right now for terrorism. The son will get there."
Say"Salah Soltan called for killing Israel's ambassador, on video, in 2011. He's in prison in Egypt today. And his son writes checks to Abdul El-Sayed."

The father's record is yours to hit. "The son will get there" predicts a US citizen goes to prison for terror. Lose it.

Temple Israel

You said: "a man rammed a truck into temple Israel... with 140 preschoolers inside... and opened fire... Well, he was killed"
Say"March 12th, 2026. A man drove into the early childhood wing of Temple Israel, a synagogue near Detroit, full of little kids. He traded gunfire with a security guard. On video he said he wanted to 'kill as many of them as I possibly can.' He died at the scene. The FBI called it Hezbollah-inspired terrorism."

Stick to what the FBI found. It's horrifying enough without anything added, and it means nobody can nitpick the details to dodge the point.

You said: "his family members who are most likely Hezbollah terrorists... El Saeed justifies it... pretending that the Muslim who went to murder children was really the victim"
Say"The day after, El-Sayed put out a video. He said: I condemn what he did. There is never a justification for attacking innocent people or houses of worship. Never. And then he said this: [PLAY HIS CLIP] 'Hurt people hurt people.' The attacker's brother was a Hezbollah commander killed in an Israeli strike. And El-Sayed's explanation for a man who drove into a preschool wing at a synagogue is that he was hurting. He condemned it. Then he explained it. I think the explanation cancels the condemnation."

Say "explained" or "excused," never "justified": he literally said "never a justification," and anyone who watches his video will think you lied. And "the attacker," not "the Muslim." Your argument is about this man, and the brother fact is better than a guess.

You said: "This man tried to justify that."
Say"Five months later, the week after he won the primary, he apologized. Listen to how: 'My comments may have been misconstrued.' Misconstrued. And he kept campaigning with Hasan Piker."

Ends the segment on his words and rolls straight into Piker.

Piker

You said: "with 11 million followers... that has held live calls with terrorists and has been as kind and friendly as possible"
Say"He campaigned with Hasan Piker. Held a rally with him at the University of Michigan and put it on his own campaign channel. The man who said America deserved 9/11, and that Hamas is 'a thousand times better' than Israel. El-Sayed has never cut ties with him."

Same fixes as the glossary. "Terrorist supporter" right after is your opinion, and you're allowed it. Just keep it sounding like opinion: "I'd call him a terror supporter."

The denial

This is the climax, so it gets one clean paragraph instead of a list of fixes.

You said: "His mother was directly involved in sending money to terrorists... So his mother and his stepfather are both involved in sending millions of dollars to terror organizations... his mother and his stepfather all have ties to terrorism."
Say"On Meet the Press he was asked straight out: does your family have any ties to the Brotherhood? He said no. Then NBC read him his own sister's posts about their mother's activism in the Brotherhood. He called it 'hearsay evidence from a tweet.' His birth mother worked five years for a charity the Treasury shut down as a terror financier. His father-in-law ran CAIR Michigan and has put three hundred thousand dollars into the super PAC backing him. Maybe none of that makes him Brotherhood. I'm not saying it does. But 'no ties'? With all that? That's not an answer. That's a dodge. Do they think we're stupid?"

Replaces two minutes of repeats. Keeps "do they think we're stupid," which is your best line in the episode and is fair: it's about his answer, not about her. Note the slip in the first take: "stepfather" was meant to be father-in-law.

You said: "Does he become the greatest spy that we've ever seen in America"
Say"Does he become the greatest Trojan horse in US history? That's my worry. I can't prove it, and I'm not claiming to. I'm asking."

Trojan horse is opinion, and fine. "Spy" accuses him of a crime. Saying "I can't prove it" out loud makes the worry hit harder, not softer.

Israel

You said: "he came out publicly and accused Israel of genocide before October, before Israel retaliated for October 7th"
Say"October 21st, 2023. Two weeks after October 7th. Before a single Israeli ground soldier went into Gaza. He posted: 'At the heart of the genocide being perpetrated against innocent Palestinians today.' Two weeks in."

Israel's airstrikes started Oct 7 and 8, so "before Israel retaliated" is wrong. "Before the ground invasion" is right and lands just as hard. Put the post on screen.

You said: "They have one of the lowest civilian to combatant death ratios in history."
Say"John Spencer, who chairs urban warfare studies at West Point, argues Israel's civilian-to-combatant ratio is one of the lowest in the history of urban war. Others dispute his numbers. Look it up and decide."

Name who says it. Unsourced, it's the easiest line in the episode to attack.

You said: "Never in all of history has any army done so much to reduce civilian casualties."
Say"I've studied a lot of wars. I've never seen an army warn the other side's civilians like this. Phone calls. Texts. Leaflets. Maps. Roof knocking."

"Never in all of history" is a claim someone will try to disprove. "I've never seen" is your testimony as a combat vet, and nobody can take that from you.

The close

You said: "Now, don't get me started on the right... JD Vance... professors find a way to put anti-white stuff in their teachings..."
Say"And don't get me started on the right. That's its own episode, and it's coming."

One line instead of three minutes. Keeps the episode on El-Sayed and keeps your MSW classmates and professors out of it. If you want the Vance argument, give it a full episode where you can source it.

You said: "being related to multiple members of the Muslim Brotherhood involved in terrorism"
Say"From campaigning with Hasan Piker, to a family his own sister says has long been Brotherhood, to telling Meet the Press there are no ties."

Recap only what the record holds. Same punch.

You said: "every single thing Republicans have said about him is spot on"
Say"Not everything Republicans said about him holds up. I checked. Ted Cruz said his campaign was 'openly embracing terrorist organizations,' and there's nothing behind that. But what does hold up is bad enough. And it's his own words."

This is the line that makes your mom's friends trust the rest. You checked it, so say you checked it.

You said: "when asked which is more dangerous, Iran or Israel, he says they're both dangerous"
Say"Asked in the debate which is more dangerous, Iran or Israel, he called it a ridiculous hypothetical and said: 'Both of them have proven dangerous in their own way.'"

Quote him word for word. Know that on NBC he also said "Iran is a dangerous threat." If someone brings that up, your answer is: he still wouldn't pick.

You said: "Abdul Al-Sayed is a threat to America."
Say"In my opinion, Abdul El-Sayed is a threat to America. I've shown you why. Go check every bit of it yourself. The sources are in the description."

Your conclusion, said as your conclusion, with the receipts behind it.
